“To Sherlock Holmes she is always the women” the story starts with this dialogue, and ends referring to it.

A Scandal in Bohemia is one of the many stories written by Sir Arthur Conan Doyle, being the first story in the book “The Adventures of Sherlock Holmes”. This time Mr. Holmes meets and strange gentleman from Bohemia. The Gentleman illuminates that a few years ago, he had participated in a surreptitious relationship with American opera singer named, Irene Adler, after which she retired and started living in London. The gentleman on the other hand was now set to marry a young Scandinavian lady but fears that her sternly honorable family will call off the marriage ought they discover of this unseemliness.

The story is known for the introduction of the iconic character of Irene Adler and how the best plans of Mr. Sherlock Holmes were beaten by a woman’s wit!
